2006 Emerge Festival, Heanor

In partnership with Amber Valley Borough Council’s Arts Development Department, Kananda took part in the indoor version of the popular Emerge Festival at Heanor Town Hall in October 2006.

The free festival was an all-day celebration of global arts and culture.

The programme included Indian, African and Indonesian dance demonstrations, Indonesian gamelan playing, storytelling, breakdance and beatmatching.

Kananda set the scene with Indian decor, whilst Andy Jupp AKA Charity Shop DJ played a rousing set to welcome guests as they arrived.
