The Guardian Hay Festival

In May 2006 Kananda screened the original black and white version of the classic 1961 Indian film, Mughal-e-Azam at the Guardian Hay Festival FilmFour Cinema.

A pre-screening introduction was given by broadcaster, novelist and journalist, Jameela Siddiqi. The response of the audience was enthusiastic and many stayed behind after the screening to chat to Jameela.

We have since been given positive feedback on behalf of Baba Asif, the son of the late K Asif, the Director of the film:

"Obviously this film is very dear to his heart as his mother was also in it! I go every year to Hay so it was a pleasure to see the movie being shown there."
