Nottingham South Asian Arts Festival

July 2005 saw the first ever exhibition in the UK of the Kananda Collection of classic Bollywood Cinema Hoardings.

The exhibition, held at the Royal Centre in Nottingham, was part of the Nottingham South Asian Arts Festival, organised by the Nottingham Asian Arts Council and Nottingham-based City Arts.

The two-week exhibition also featured a season of classic and contemporary Indian cinema, including Black, Mother India and the colourised version of Mughal-e-Azam.

Guest speaker was Broadcaster, Novelist and Music Critic, Jameela Siddiqi
